Hi!
We’re Sakina and Wareesha, two students who are aspiring to be future medics. We are currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-Level, subjects which have developed our critical thinking and problem solving skills, whilst also sparking our curiosity in the complex human anatomy, and the mechanisms that lie within it.
However, our enthusiasm exceeds what we’re taught in the classroom.
We’ve always been fascinated by the growing medical field and the rate at which new conditions and diseases are studied. We share a common desire to revolutionise the medical field by spreading awareness of uncommon conditions, aiming to drive innovation in biological research.
Did you know that adenomyosis, a gynaecological condition where the uterus lining grows into the uterine muscular wall, affects roughly 1 in 5 women in the UK? Let’s be honest, did you even know it exists?
This is why our blog aims to raise awareness of conditions, which are often overlooked – it’s not the conditions we’re neglecting, it’s the real victims that suffer with them. A condition goes beyond the diagnosis on a page, it infiltrates everyday life of those affected AND everyone around them.
Our goal isn’t purely to educate, but to spread the stories behind these forgotten conditions. By breaking down medical concepts into everyday language, we make science approachable – putting the faces and voices of patients at the centre of every story.
This isn’t about fear of disease – it’s about understanding, compassion and our empathy. You don’t have to be a doctor to know, you just have to be human.
